El Campo de mi familia-The Family Farm!

I went to the family´s farm on Wednesday, and it was amazing!!! We left around noon, and drove a half hour through beautiful Spanish farmland, which means fields after fields of olive trees! And rolling hills...and mountains in the background! We saw their pretty farmhouse, which is shared with the parents of my host dad. They had a cool spiral staircase that my host dad built! Then we got to just wander around and meet some animals! I´m pretty sure that my host dad is a very lazy man...most of the time anyway, becuase he has 11 bros and sisters and they are the ones that own all the animals, meaning he doesn´t have to do anything with them! And he´s the one that´s always there! Anyway, we saw some goats, about 8 horses, tons of dogs, lots of cats, and then there were the sheep...our dad told us they were just for eating and that he was going to kill one that afternoon! Yikes! He´s kind of blunt and cruel, but he´s funny! So then we took out one of the horses, I can´t remember it´s name, Jaime (the dad), kept saying his name was horse...haha. I think it was Perrigrina or something like that! Anyway, Jaime washed it off and then we let him dry in the sun while went to eat lunch! A bunch of the family came for lunch...it was really cool to be with a bigger group of Spaniards. There was a little 3 year old boy, and like three 8 year old boys, and then like 5 of Jaime´s siblings and their spouses and some nephews and stuff. We had a huge, delicious meal that included home made bread (Jaime´s bro-in-law), home made pastries (Jaime´s sister), and many great dishes; meat, eggs and peppers, potatoes, which were made by my host mom and probs some of the other women! And we got Fanta with lunch, which was a treat cuz we drink water with every meal! Oh, and we ate our lunch out on a picnic table in the sun, it was a beautiful day! Then we went to ride the horse! Our host mom rode the horse first, it was so cute! Then I went, Jaime led the horse and we just walked a little ways. Then Katie and Britt each had a turn. Then Jaime asked if I wanted to go ¨sola¨without him leading! I was nervous, but really wanted to...so I walked a ways down the road, but when we were coming back I couldn´t get the horse to continue past everyone by the house, and he went up this little ramp and I was trying to turn him around and he bucked up on his hind legs!!! The next thing I knew I was still on him and all his feet were back on the ground! It was sweet! I can´t believe I stayed on! Everyone was scared but thought it looked awesome, too bad there was no action shot! I felt like a cowgirl! We were entertained the rest of the evening watching nephews ride motos up hills, and listening to the little annoying boy yelling at the dogs. Oh, the dogs! I forgot to mention there were two brand new puppies named Lana and Luna (Wool and Moon!) They were adorable, and we spent the whole day holding and admiring them! Yeah, so that was my great day at the farm with all the family! The coolest part was that our oldest host sister, Mar, who we hadn´t really liked because she didn´t seem very friendly toward us, came with us. It was perfect because it was such a fun day, and now we feel so much more comfortable around her, finally after 2 months! And we rode back with her in her car and listened to sweet techno! What a day!
